My Favorite TV Shows

I like how TV series can really develop characters further than a two hour film. Now, with torrents, DVD sets, and Netflix -- you can watch whole seasons at a time.

endgame tv show Endgame - Canadian series follows former World Chess Champion genius who uses his analytical skills to solve crimes.

Cancelled after only one season -- but worth watching if you like "who done its". Endgame on Hulu

Sons of Anarchy - Wow. Drama about a motorcycle gang. One of the best new TV series in years. Great actors!

Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law - Quirky animated series. Harvey Birdman, the former superhero is now practicing law. His cases always involve legal disputes between classic cartoon characters.

Boardwalk Empire - HBO series that takes place during the American Prohibition of liquor in Atlantic City.

Archer - My favorite new animated series. Adult humor.

Secret agent Sterling Archer is the world’s most dangerous spy, but political intrigue and global crises are nothing compared to the sexual tension and human resources crises at the intelligence agency where he works.

Dead Like Me - Smart and funny, good characters and original concept. Another great show that got cancelled prematurely.

Breaking Bad - I really liked the first season. Great characters, natural dialog, and original plot.

I haven't watched anything past the second season, but think I might start back at the beginning since it is easily streamed from Netflix. Breaking Bad - On Amazon

Deadwood - Excellent historical drama. The life and times of a group of men and women who set up camp in Deadwood, South Dakota during the gold rush of 1876.

My Favorite Movies

Most movies can't hold my attention. The following is a list of exceptions, what I consider to be exceptional films:

mongol movie Mongol - This movie has everything: a love story, epic battles, amazing scenery...plus a beautifully filmed look at early Mongolian culture and history.

I watched this with my kids, and they loved it just as much as I did. The soundtrack is great, too. Mongol - on Amazon | Mongol Trailer

Shortbus - Hilarious and smart story. An exploration into the lives of several characters living in present-day New York as they navigate the comic and tragic intersections between love and sex.
