Foraging
Notes from foraging in the Pacific Northwest
My list is Vancouver Island area centric, but most of these plants are found in the western parts of British Columbia, Washington, Oregon and California.
Poisoness plants: Water Hemlock, Foxglove, Giant Hogweed, Monkshood
Poisoness Mushrooms: Better to assume an unknown mushroom is toxic. Only pick and eat mushrooms you can positively identify.
Edible Plants of the Pacific Northwest:
Common Edible Weeds:
These are common weeds, many throughout the US and Canada. Go for a walk around your town, keep your eyes on the ground and you’ll be sure to find the majority of these useful plants. 100 mile diet? How about a 100 feet diet?
