Court Abbreviations – BC, Canada Criminal Law Courts

Justin Code Table (BC Court Codes and Abbreviations)

JUSTIN – B.C.’s justice information system, provides a single integrated database comprising almost every aspect of a criminal case.

Daily court lists and results are relatively easy to find online, (see our Court List & Results section), however they are only one piece of the puzzle when trying to decode BC’s Courts legal documents.

You’ll need a copy of the JUSTIN code & meanings to interpret BC court case documents. This was not easy to find online — but now it is!

The JUSTIN code on this page helps anyone (lawyers, police, victims, the media, law students, etc.) interpret the BC criminal law courts records.

The information below in HTML format was (painstakingly) lifted from an obscure part of the BC Gov web site.

Quick Find Tip: Looking for a specific JUSTIN code / abbreviation?

Just press Ctl+F – this will bring up a “find” or “search” box in your web browser. Type the code / abbreviation you are looking for into this box to let your browser search the page for you. (I have a page of useful computer & internet tips that might help you, as well).
