Funny List of Text-Based Emoticons for Chat and Text Messaging

Classic list of smileys.

Note: I did not write all these — and I have no idea who did, it was something that has been published in numerous places online on forums and bulletin boards over the years. Now they have become popular all over again with the rise in text messaging.

Update 2011 – Editors note: This list is one of the oldest features here on Blifaloo. I think a big reason I put it here was for my grandma…she thought smileys were “neat”.

After sitting here for 6 or so years, I decided to update the page with some links to larger smiley lists and sites that are updated more often than this page. You’ll find these links at the end of this article.

🙂 Your basic smiley.;-) Winky smiley. 🙁 Frowning smiley.

:-> User just made a really biting sarcastic remark. Worse than a :-).

>:-> User just made a really devilish remark.

>;-> Winky and devil combined. A very lewd remark was just made.
